About Last Night…THE VOICE and DEBRIS

Let’s talk about Monday night’s TV!

THE VOICE: Well, it feels like it could be almost anyone’s prize to win in the finale. It had felt a little more skewed in the past, but many of the contestants had series-best performances. If I had to guess, I would probably wager Cam and Kenzie are top 2, but I’m not sure there is any combo of the top 5 that would upset me.

DEBRIS: OH, HELLO, JOHN NOBLE. Even if you ignore the fact I would watch John Noble read the phone book, I’m so intrigued by Otto and the mess he stirred up. And how he might go against George, especially if George is pushed to do something that will do irreversible harm to Finola.

Honestly, I have like 700 questions about that other Finola. (Or, Finother, as creator J.H. Wyman dubbed her.) At first, I assumed it was another timeline/universe bleeding through—like we saw in the time loop episode—but now…help? Is this a debris effect? Something George caused? Is the Finola we have the “real” Finola?

I really do hope we get a second season. I thought the first really did a beautiful job of laying the groundwork of the world and playing in the known tropes of the genre. But now I’m excited to see what the heck they actually set up. [For more on the finale, here’s what Wyman had to say.]
