CHICAGO MED Bosses Tease Ethan’s Medical Crisis, Will and Natalie’s Lies Being Exposed in the Season 6 Finale

CHICAGO MED’s season comes to an end, as a number of characters are at professional crossroads—and a few off-screen exits are looming.

With Natalie (Torrey DeVitto) stealing medication from Will’s (Nick Gehlfuss) medical trial in an attempt to save her ailing mother, both doctors are trying to take the blame for what went down.

“The truth will come out,” MED executive producer Diane Frolov teased via email. “And the person most affected, after Will and Natalie, is Goodwin who must decide how to deal with it.  It’s a professional decision but also an emotional one—Goodwin has worked intimately with both Will and Natalie for six years!”

The doctors also have a more immediate issue, as Ethan (Brian Tee) is attacked during the finale.

“Regarding Ethan, we don’t want to tip the medical outcome of his being shot,” executive producer Andrew Schneider acknowledged via email. “But it certainly will have a major impact on his life going forward. It will also have a major impact on those who love him.”

The producers were a bit more vague about how they’d be writing out DeVitto and Yaya DaCosta‘s April. “Both of their season-long storylines come to a head in the finale,” Schneider said.

Added Frolov: “Almost all of our regulars find themselves at a major turning point in their lives.”
