GOSSIP GIRL Series Premiere Gets Special The CW Airing
June 24, 2021 by Marisa Roffman
XOXO, GOSSIP GIRL is back on The CW—at least for a night.
The 90-minute series premiere of the new HBO Max series GOSSIP GIRL will have a special one-time airing on Friday, July 9 at 8/7c, a day after the show bows on the streaming service. (But as of now, there is no plan to air the rest of the new show on The CW.)
The new GOSSIP GIRL “explores just how much social media — and the landscape of New York itself — has changed in the intervening years since The CW’s original series ended. The HBO Max series stars Jordan Alexander, Eli Brown, Thomas Doherty, Tavi Gevinson, Emily Alyn Lind, Evan Mock, Zion Moreno, Whitney Peak and Savannah Lee Smith.” Former GOSSIP GIRL showrunner Joshua Safran is running the new series.
