THE BLACKLIST Boss Jon Bokenkamp Exits: ‘It’s Time for Me to Step Out of My Comfort Zone’

Following the season 8 finale, THE BLACKLIST creator Jon Bokenkamp announced he’s leaving the show.

“I’ve made the difficult decision to leave THE BLACKLIST,” he wrote, in part, on Twitter. “I love this show with all of my heart, and it’s been an incredible journey, but after eight years I feel it’s time for me to step out of my comfort zone, try something new, and explore a few other characters and stories that have been crawling around in my head.”

And though his exit comes on the heels of series co-star Megan Boone also leaving the show, he noted, “I genuinely believe the series remains full of life, creatively strong, and that bright days lie ahead.”

THE BLACKLIST will air Fridays at 8/7c this fall.
