FBI: Alana De La Garza Teases Isobel’s Pressure from Rina and Tension with OA

“Trauma” – After the team finds a connection between bombings at government agencies and a private veterans’ club in New York City, Isobel tells OA to recruit his former Army buddy, Chris (Cleveland Berto), for intel since he spends time at the club. However, knowing the difficulty soldiers like Chris often face returning to civilian life, OA is reluctant to follow orders, on the CBS Original series FBI, Tuesday, Oct. 5 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+.

On the Tuesday, October 5 episode of FBI, “Trauma,” Isobel (Alana De La Garza) is put in a tough spot when she needs OA (Zeeko Zaki) to cross a personal boundary.
In the hour, Isobel asks OA to reach out to a fellow Army vet, Chris (Cleveland Berto), after the veteran club has ties to recent bombings.
“That episode is also just a heart wrenching choice that she has to make,” De La Garza notes. “But also she has pressure from [her boss], Rina. You will get to see a little more of Rina and the pressure that [Isobel] is put under, because a lot of these decisions, she doesn’t have complete control. And she’s faced with a lot of tough choices as far as trusting OA and trusting his gut, and doing what she knows she has to do in order to protect the many.”
OA, understandably, has reservations about it—which Isobel does empathize with, to an extent.
“It’s a struggle, for sure,” De La Garza says. “I really think that Isobel loves her team—but she also has to direct them and has to look OA straight in the face and say, ‘We are doing this. You’re going to stand down, you’re going to relax, and you’re going to follow these orders.’ Even if her heart is saying, ‘I completely understand what you’re saying, My heart might agree with you, but my brain has to be logical right now and make tough choices.'”
