About Last Night…THE SIMPSONS, THE EQUALIZER, SEAL TEAM, and More
October 25, 2021 by Marisa Roffman
Let’s talk about Sunday night’s TV!
THE SIMPSONS: This was actually a really important episode, because Marge calling Lisa chunky would absolutely mess with her head. (We’ve seen Lisa have body image issues before, but a lot of that was from external forces. Her mom saying it, after she was put on medicine? Yikes.)
THE EQUALIZER: Robyn is so damn good at her job, though Dante is absolutely now in the line of fire since they realize he’s a good way to get to her. I’m so curious how long it can sustain that he’s figuratively straddling both worlds.
(And a special eff you to the DEA agent who didn’t pull Malik when he used his “pull me now” catchphrase.)
LEGENDS OF THE HIDDEN TEMPLE: Hey, we got the first win-win of the season! I’m surprised it took so long.
BOB’S BURGERS: Gene freaking out about growing a hair on his chest was very on-brand, as was him trying to pretend he was seven. Poor kid.
Also, Linda, oh my God, don’t get your hair done by someone who scares you!! You piss them off, they can ruin your look for weeks.
FAMILY GUY: Well, at least Stewie has some standards about who and what he’ll kill.
SEAL TEAM: What a beautifully crafted hour. Jessica Pare did an incredible job of making it feel consistent with normal episodes, especially considering we had so little time with our series regulars. It was bittersweet to see where they were before the events of 9/11, but handled respectfully. And what a gutting final moment with the cast at Ground Zero. (And my goodness, Neil Brown Jr. broke my freaking heart.)
