About Last Night…THE VOICE, THE FLASH, and NEW AMSTERDAM
November 24, 2021 by Marisa Roffman
Let’s talk about Tuesday night’s TV!
THE VOICE: I didn’t agree with the bottom two acts, but it was hard to be as invested after Wendy’s fall? How absolutely terrifying. It’s much harder to host a live television show than it looks—which we’ve seen when subs come in on established shows—but Carson Daly was an absolute pro at making sure Wendy was okay and helped off the stage, the show moved forward, and viewers got to see her ASAP to get reassured things weren’t as bad as they looked.
THE FLASH: I wish these five episodes were airing a bit more contained like the last big crossover did. I don’t think things will stick (Joe can never die, please and thank you), but I’m excited to see Barry with Jefferson.
NEW AMSTERDAM: All season the show told us Max and Helen were leaving. I didn’t believe it. It’s almost funny they told us for this entire run exactly what they were going to do, and it was more shocking they actually followed through with it. But, uh, now what?!
I’m really glad Leyla confronted Bloom, because it was so deeply unfair for Leyla to commit to this relationship and get her hopes up about this job—which she deserved, full stop—while Bloom and the audience knew the truth. Now they can figure out what’s next.
As soon as Malvo said things were complicated, it was a, “Well, she’s pregnant” red flag. I’m so curious what comes next, because Reynolds has pushed himself out of his comfort zone because he loves Malvo…if a kid is involved, what’s his next move?
