KENAN: Kenan Thompson Previews a Very Musical ‘Christmas Show’

It’s Christmastime on KENAN, and the NBC comedy is returning with an unexpected start: a song!

“We’re opening [the episode] with an awesome musical number that I don’t want to spoil,” Kenan Thompson, who plays the title character, teases in the video below. “It’s a great welcome back to the existence of our show, basically…Any time the music feels good, and we get a chance to thoroughly explore it, in comedy and shooting, it just feels great.”

Outside of the memorable opening number, Kenan is busy in “Christmas Show,” as Kenan has to work on the holiday, playing Santa himself…and having a little work conflict with his brother/manager, Gary (Chris Redd), who is thinking of taking on another client.

“They built like a whole Christmas town that is incredible,” Thompson enthuses. “It’s going to look great on TV. But I’m running around doing the most as usual, going back and forth from playing Santa to arguing with my brother.”
