About Last Night…CELEBRITY WHEEL OF FORTUNE, SUPERMARKET SWEEP, THE ROOKIE, and More

Let’s talk about Sunday night’s TV!
CELEBRITY WHEEL OF FORTUNE: Marcia Cross was absolutely hilarious rejecting her (correct) final guess for the Bonus Round, until Pat told her she was correct….and then started jumping up and down.
It was a funny game, as weird as that sounds, with Anthony Anderson missing the word “meltdown” in a clue and the, well, questionable “Martin Short Circuit” guesses.,
THE EQUALIZER: Holy PERSON OF INTEREST vibes with the new subway hideout. I’m sad it seems we lost the old spot—which was cool—but it should be interesting to see how this comes about.
PIVOTING: The promos for this were a bit rough, but I found the pilot sweet and moving. It was very much a premise pilot, where things were being set up, so I’m curious to see what episode 2 looks like.
BOB’S BURGERS: Louise having to contend with LaBonz actually being helpful toward her learning process was sweet. It absolutely makes sense that LaBonz would have her number AND spite would guide Louise’s drive.
I don’t know why I’m surprised Linda would not want to be buried and Bob would not want to be cremated; for some reason, I would have flipped that. But the animation sequence as Linda talked about her fears about it (including the need for a poker to make sure she wasn’t just deep asleep) made me laugh.
SUPERMARKET SWEEP: Oh my God, the woman from Team Yams who had the inflatable pretzel around her body the entire time! How much will she regret that??? I’m happy for her sake it’s not like they lost the round by a couple hundred bucks, but also how much did it slow her down? (Also, as someone who eats Beyond Meat frequently, I don’t even know if I would have gotten that final freaking clue in the first Sweep.)
On a serious note, I wonder if they’ll adjust the final round going forward. I haven’t done a season-by-season comparison in the amount won, but it feels like less people are winning big. If that’s the case, do the producers care? Or are less people winning big, but perhaps more people winning bigger amounts since it’s not risking the entire amount with each clue?
THE ROOKIE: Well, we lasted a few episodes before I worried about one of the characters and their unborn kid. Extra worried about Nyla since Lopez just managed to give birth as happily as possible in a drama show. And Nyla saying how impossible she thought this was, but how much she wanted it?
Oh my God, Aaron and this reality show?! It won’t end well, either. But a literal laugh out loud when Nyla made him apologize to his mother for the tone of voice he used when they first reunited.
I’m glad for Bailey it seems the situation with her ex is contained, but eesh, what a mess to have hanging over her head. And how lucky for her she actually had cops able to help.
Also, Tamara has gone through so, so much, but I’m so glad she has Lucy. (And I’m so glad Lucy has Tamara, too.)
