Couch Madness: The 2022 Winners!
April 5, 2022 by Marisa Roffman
For the past few weeks, Give Me My Remote launched our own kind of bracket, pitting similarly titled episodes against each other in what we dubbed Couch Madness. (Credit for the excellent name goes fellow reporter Chris Hayner.)
And now, we have our first winners! Keep reading for your choices for the best “Shattered,” “Closure,” “Gone,” and “Rage.” (You can also check out all the previous brackets here.)
“Shattered” winner: COLD CASE (6): “Valens partners with Rush to locate her sister, who was abducted from her drug-littered motel room, and Jeffries tries to bring justice and closure to a long-suffering mother whose daughter’s murder case has remained unsolved for 17 years.”
“Closure” group 1 winner: LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT (5): “Part 2: Stabler and Benson investigate a sexual assault very similar to one they worked a year and a half ago, whose first-known victim now follows her alleged attacker and reports his activities anonymously to the police, and the rapist’s wife.”
“Closure” group 2 winner: CHICAGO P.D. (8): “Burgess fights for her life. Dep. Supt. Sam Miller is desperate to find her son’s killer. Voight and Upton deal with the aftermath of their deadly decision. Ruzek struggles with the pressure of the situation.”
“Gone” group 1 winner: BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER (3): “The Three Geeks mistakenly turn Buffy invisible. The Slayer takes some advantage from going unseen. Willow has to do the detective without using magic, while Xander finds Spike doing some weird physical training.”
“Gone” group 2 winner: SUITS (3): “After Louis confesses his wrongdoings in the Forstman deal to Jessica, the firm is forced to go on the offensive against Sean Cahill. But will Harvey be able to save Louis from getting fired, or has Jessica finally had enough?”
“Rage” winner: 9-1-1 (7): “Athena takes action after her family experiences a traumatic traffic stop; Buck’s suit against the city goes to arbitration; Eddie turns to Lena in his struggles with his anger issues.”
