About Last Night…CHICAGO MED, A MILLION LITTLE THINGS, CHICAGO P.D., and More

Let’s talk about Wednesday night’s TV!
CHICAGO MED: Yikes, when the girl insisted she wasn’t drinking, I figured they were doing the medical trope of her body making it seem like she was drunk despite her not actually taking a sip. (Hello, TRANSPLANT!) I did not even consider the boozy tampon trick. Mess. (But also props to the writers for not doing the same thing as every other medical show.)
The surrogate situation was absolutely heartbreaking? On one hand, it makes sense the parents didn’t want their kid to suffer. On the other, the surrogate was the one who would have had to undergo the abortion. (But if you “sense” the baby is fine, tell the parents??? Ask for more tests?? Don’t wait and plan to just keep the kid for yourself.)
Even with having the man on fire in the promo, I still didn’t see the hunger strike patient going that far. Eesh.
I really, really hope Ethan can handle the reveal about his father in a healthy way. (And presumably this will lead him to the storyline with Dr. Charles.)
CHICAGO FIRE: Oh, so Emma isn’t just sketchy, she’s S-K-E-T-C-H-Y. It’s clear she wants to stay at 51, so what the heck is she actually going to do to make that happen, especially when Brett returns?
Boden and Stella playing Mom and Dad with Kylie’s dating life was probably crossing the line, but also pretty funny.
I love Stella and Severide’s wedding location! It feels very sweet and fitting. (Well, possible wedding location. It’s TV. It’s basically a TV rule that if you see the bride-to-be in a possible wedding dress, she almost certainly won’t walk down the aisle in that dress. I don’t know if that unwritten rule applies as firmly to wedding locations…)
A MILLION LITTLE THINGS: Oh my God, the Jon scavenger hunt was absolutely precious. The loss of D this season has been hard at times, because it’s crazy to think Eddie just isn’t seeing his youngest kid and Sophie has been entirely separated from her mom and siblings. But it was lovely to have Sophie and Danny have their family bonding and pay tribute to their dad.
Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, so…Peter. There’s almost always a twist, so there’s no way Anna killed him, right? (My money, right now, is on Peter’s date/Anna’s former friend.)
I really hope Gary and Maggie can get some good news. They’re moving pretty fast, but they deserve to not have things entirely fall apart.
CHICAGO P.D.: Atwater is such a good man; I’m glad his instincts were eventually proven to be correct that the woman was good…and he was able to find her cell phone for proof/keep her safe.
It’s also really sad he’s been trying to make amends with Celeste all of this time and she’s been ignoring him. I don’t exactly blame her for being upset, but his weekly messages were just so depressing. Hopefully him letting her go with that final message at the end means he might be able to move on.
