About Last Night…AMERICAN IDOL, THE GREAT NORTH, TRANSPLANT, and More
April 25, 2022 by Marisa Roffman
Let’s talk about Sunday night’s TV!
AMERICAN IDOL: Ugh, I’m not thrilled with who got cut. For me, Emyrson Flora and Lady K were the weakest of the night, by far, and I would have kept Allegra Miles and Ava Maybee.
But I think Nicolina had the performance of the night? “Hallelujah” is such an over-performed song, especially on singing competition shows, but it’s also an absolutely stunning number when done right. Nicolina did that.
THE SIMPSONS: Bart writing on the chalkboard at the end! I was actually okay with Ned being Bart’s new teacher, but it made sense they would want to bring someone in full-time. Kerry Washington is a fun addition to the show, and I’m curious how much we’ll see her going forward.
THE GREAT NORTH: As a general rule, adding Timothy Olyphant to your show can only be a good thing.
Beef opting to spend his time with his toys…I’m kind of jealous? Good for him for finding a new outlet while he couldn’t fish, properly, and find a way to spend time “on” his boat. (And I’m glad his kids eventually convinced him it was okay to give up imaginary control, too.)
WEAKEST LINK: It felt like some of these questions were actually harder than normal? But it’s always kind of funny when a contestant tries to bring what they think is a weaker competitor with them to the final round and then they lose. (Sorry, Marissa.)
BOB’S BURGERS: Well, now I want to shoot zombie cutouts with water guns.
And poor Linda…she just wanted a fancy night in and got…that.
TRANSPLANT: Uh, considering Hunter’s marriage issues, maybe not the best idea to GIVE HIS CAR AWAY TO STRANGERS? If he wants to stand a chance of seeing his kids, maybe don’t give away your mode of taking them places?
The case with Kelsey and her father was absolutely heartbreaking. It makes sense why she kept things from him for so long, but it made everything an absolute mess. And now it certainly seems like Bash is going to get blamed for things, which is entirely unfair.
