CHICAGO FIRE: Derek Haas and Andrea Newman Preview the Next Step in Violet and Emma’s Feud, an ‘Extremely Dangerous’ Storyline for Severide, and More
May 10, 2022 by Marisa Roffman
CHICAGO FIRE returns on Wednesday, May 11 with “Halfway To The Moon,” as Firehouse 51 has to contend with a little inter-house drama.
For Stella (Miranda Rae Mayo), she worries when a member of her team thinks about making a change. Elsewhere, Violet (Hanako Greensmith) and new Firehouse 51 addition Emma (Caitlin Carver), continue to struggle to work together—thanks to Violet being aware of Emma’s duplicity. But Emma isn’t exactly willing to go down without one heck of a fight.
What comes next? CHICAGO FIRE executive producers Derek Haas and Andrea Newman offered a few teases, via email, about the end of the season…
Emma seems, um, extraordinarily ambitious. What can you preview about how that drive will continue to clash with Firehouse 51?
Emma found that she likes Firehouse 51 and would sure like to make her position permanent there. If Violet should stand in her way of that, then Violet’s gotta go. The whole situation is about to get a lot nastier.
Violet and Hawkins have gotten fairly serious, pretty fast. How will they continue to navigate their relationship, and how will Gallo be contending with that?
Violet and Hawkins have quickly fallen for each other, but there are some big obstacles coming to make cracks in that foundation. Gallo will be a big part of that story going forward.
I’m loving the little bit we saw of Cruz, Chloe, and Javi. How much will they be playing into these final episodes, and what will Cruz and Chloe’s next steps be in securing their relationship with Javi?
We’re thrilled about that storyline and love little Javi. Anytime we see Chloe is great on our show… she’s such a wonderful performer. We will see some more from that new family this season but hope to continue seeing them a lot more next year.
What has you most excited about these final batch of episodes?
There is a thrilling storyline happening with Severide that is going to be extremely dangerous and not be contained to one episode. But what else is new???
