Matthew Morrison Exits SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE
May 27, 2022 by Marisa Roffman
SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE is undergoing a judging panel shakeup: Matthew Morrison has exited the Fox reality competition.
According to Us Weekly, who first reported the news, a “minor infraction” led to Morrison’s exit. “Having the opportunity to be a judge on SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE was an incredible honor for me,” Morrison told US in a statement. “Therefore, it is my deepest regret to inform you that I will be leaving the show.”
“After filming the audition rounds for the show and completing the selection of the 12 finalists, I did not follow competition production protocols, preventing me from being able to judge the competition fairly,” he continued. “I cannot apologize enough to all involved and I will be watching alongside you all on what I know will be one of the best seasons yet.”
Morrison was part of a show revamp, alongside new judges tWitch (who had his big break on the show) and JoJo Siwa. (Longtime host Cat Deeley was the one person to return after the show’s nearly three year hiatus.)
A new judge is expected to be announced soon.
