LAW & ORDER: SUPERGIRL Vet Mehcad Brooks Joins Season 22

LAW & ORDER has found its new detective: Mehcad Brooks is joining the season 22 cast, Give Me My Remote has learned.

Details about Brooks’ character—including his name—are being kept quiet, for now.

The news comes after Anthony Anderson departed the drama, following a one-year deal to reprise his role of Detective Kevin Bernard for the first revival season of LAW & ORDER. Bernard was partnered with Jeffrey Donovan‘s Detective Frank Cosgrove in the just-concluded season 21.

Brooks is best known to television audiences from playing Jimmy Olsen on SUPERGIRL. He’s also starred on TRUE BLOOD, NECESSARY ROUGHNESS, and DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES. The actor also guest starred on a 2011 episode of L&O spinoff LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT.

LAW & ORDER stars Sam Waterston, Hugh Dancy, Donovan, Odelya Halevi, and Camryn Manheim. Rick Eid serves as showrunner. The long-running series will continue to air as a part of NBC’s LAW & ORDER Thursdays, being paired with fellow Dick Wolf shows SVU and LAW & ORDER: ORGANIZED CRIME.
