About Last Night…AMERICA’S GOT TALENT, HOLEY MOLEY, and MASTERCHEF JUNIOR

Let’s talk about Tuesday night’s TV!
AMERICA’S GOT TALENT: There were a lot of genuinely fun acts this week. The Brown Brothers’ musical impersonations were delightful, though I’m curious how a whole show of theirs might play out. Ventriloquist Jack Williams was great, as was his voice throwing. How the hell did Urbancrew manage to jump so high?!
Hayden Kristal was so funny—and it’s a shame Howie missed her audition, because I think he would have appreciated it—and it was great she pointed to the success that comedians who are living with disabilities have had on this show.
Also, the Players Choir?! Who knew? (I didn’t.) Simon was absolutely right to make them sing without the track, even though they should have been a clear yes even with it. But just relying on their voices? Fantastic. I hope they incorporate that into their next performance.
HOLEY MOLEY: I don’t quite get why they had a music-themed episode given they only played into it with the contestants—rather than adding elements to the holes—but…sure! And, hey, Kermit paid a visit to the course for a bit, too.
I’m curious if Polecano gets either significantly rejiggered next season or gets entirely pulled. This week, we had contestants going 2-for-2 with the Tiki shot and not hitting the water…which is great for them, but also I’m sure the producers want some mess?
MASTERCHEF JUNIOR: Aww, poor Ivy. She was incredible, but it felt clear that she wouldn’t make it through once one of the fish wasn’t entirely cooked. Grayson and Liya were bonkers-good, too, and I have no clue how the heck the judges would have picked between the three if all of the dishes had been 100 percent cooked as intended.
And, frankly, it feels like Grayson and Liya are so evenly matched, I truly don’t know who is going to take this all home. Next week’s finale should be intense.
