Let’s talk about Sunday night’s TV!

CELEBRITY FAMILY FEUD: Okay, the first question in HACKS vs. ABBOTT ELEMENTARY was so dumb. There should have been more magic-based answers than just the rabbit?! It’s a bummer the worst question of the night—that baffled both teams—led off the season.

I’m so happy both winning teams got their 200 points, but, um, Kal Penn’s answers for the final round were SO BAD. He’s so lucky he guessed Italy (AKA the number 1 answer) for question 1, because I honestly don’t know if he would have gotten points on any other question.

BIG BROTHER: Alyssa thinking Newark was a country…I…okay.

But, seriously, how did Daniel not realize the Have Nots volunteered to get a little bit of goodwill from him and take attention off themselves for elimination?? I was intrigued by his final two with Nicole, but now I’m worried she’s going to be weighed down by him.

THE FINAL STRAW: I’m glad the first duo made the smart decision to walk away with $100k. It’s a bummer to see them not topple the final structure when they had the free pull, because now they’ll always wonder if they could have won $250k. But it’s also a different dynamic—and physical reaction—when you’re making an attempt with nothing at stake versus everything.

(Also, I know I’m getting old, because I kept thinking what a nightmare it would be to clean all of this up.)

With (executive producer) Peyton Manning revealed as the Panda at the end, I’m curious if he’s going to be a HOLEY MOLEY/Steph Curry-like presence on this show.

$100,000 PYRAMID: This felt like a good season premiere episode. I’m glad the first contestants each won $50k, and it was really cool the super fan won both rounds in game 2. And, admittedly, I’m not a SEINFELD fan, but it was fun having show-themed categories with Wayne Knight and Jason Alexander playing.
