Let’s talk about Tuesday night’s TV!

HOLEY MOLEY: HOW did Kathy make back-to-back hole in ones??? I’m fairly easy-going with HOLEY MOLEY contestants’ success—I want non-assholes, basically, to make it through—but after she made those two shots, I desperately wanted her to win it all. I’m so, so glad she did. I’m so bummed the season is over and can’t wait for the show to (hopefully) return.

AMERICA’S GOT TALENT: This may have been one of the most impressive batches of contestants in a single audition in a while. Wyn Starks’ and Ben Waites’ voices were absolutely incredible. The Balla Brothers made me so nervous, but also had one of the best/most memorable balancing auditions ever. Acapop! was both heartbreaking—how they got through singing their dead friend’s song, I don’t know; they were extraordinarily poised, especially for being so young—and so talented. I still don’t know Duo Rings managed to freaking do what they did.

A great episode, basically. And a bummer Howie had to miss it all.

THE CHASE: I figured they wouldn’t end the season on a total bust of an episode, but I couldn’t decide on whether the producers/ABC would think the contestants banking over $300k and then losing it to James in a nail-biter would be good TV. (The only thing I could really bet was that it wouldn’t be a solo contestant going head-to-head with James for $30k.) I’m so glad the contestants were able to get the money, in the end. James had been so unbeatable in the cash builder rounds—and the duo really didn’t get an incredibly high final number of questions right; I would have thought they’d need 20, before adding push backs to the mix—but I’m so glad he stumbled enough for the contestants to take home life-changing money.
