About Last Night…BIG BROTHER, SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE, THE CHALLENGE, and More

Let’s talk about Wednesday night’s TV!
MASTERCHEF: I was excited to see the vegan challenge, but, oy, some of those dishes were a mess. Samantha’s potatoes could have been interesting, but, yes, with all due respect, looked like something from a frozen meal. (But I would have thought not finishing a dish would have been a greater competition sin than a pretty boring one.)
BIG BROTHER: This entire situation is a mess. The edit seemed clearly biased against Taylor, so it made me wonder if they cut Paloma blatantly saying what Taylor alleged she did. If not, Taylor misrepresented what Paloma said, but also didn’t straight-up lie.
But…it also seems like wildly risky game-play for Taylor to reveal that information to the guys. If you’re throwing another player’s game entirely under the bus—which is a valid move, but not a safe bet when you’re still getting to know people—you have to be prepared that the person you try to warn could turn on you.
(This also does seem like way too much drama for week freaking one in a non-All Star season. No one—looking at you, Paloma—should be gunning this hard for another contestant when you’ve barely gotten to know them.)
SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE: Man, this episode felt disjointed. It’s been hard enough to connect to this group of contestants—the show’s fault; not a reflection on their talent—and then 3/4 of the duo numbers/partnerships just weren’t great. (Also, at this point, “Boogie Wonderland” just makes me think of THE OFFICE dance number.)
The only ones who weren’t a disappointment were Alexis and Carter. They gave, to me, the performance of the night.
With All Stars coming in next week, I don’t know if it’ll help the lack of connection that has been plaguing this season, but I’m hoping we at least get some dynamic dance numbers.
THE CHALLENGE: Justine and Tyson being so excited about getting to do a blindside was kind of hilarious. This was a huge gamble, because if Cash and Tiffany had won, it would have been so awkward. But it paid off for them.
Before it became clear James and Cayla would win, was anyone else getting nervous about their showboating on the bikes? That felt dangerous and like it could slow them down. If they had lost by seconds, they never would have forgiven themselves.
