GREY’S ANATOMY: James Pickens Jr. Shares Photo of the ‘New Interns of the GREY’S Family’

With GREY’S ANATOMY back in production, series star James Pickens Jr. (who has played Richard Webber since the show’s first episode) offered a preview of the very different season 19.

“Let’s give a warm welcome to the new Interns of the Grey’s family,” Pickens Jr. wrote on Instagram. “[E]xcited for season 19✌🏾”

While the quintet of Alexis Floyd as Simone Griffin, Niko Terho as Lucas Adams, Midori Francis as Mika Yasuda, Adelaide Kane as Jules Millin, and Harry Shum Jr. as Daniel “Blue” Kwan are joining the series, another notable change will be series star Ellen Pompeo (who plays title character Meredith Grey) stepping back for much of the season. (It was announced earlier this month that Pompeo will only appear in 8 episodes.)
