About Last Night…PRESS YOUR LUCK and GENERATION GAP

Let’s talk about Thursday night’s TV!
PRESS YOUR LUCK: It’s hard to feel bad, exactly, about someone going home with over $60k in cash and prizes, but it certainly feels like the show lost out on two potentially great storylines in the episode.
One would have been if Russ, who originally competed on the ’80s version of the show, had been successful and moved forward to the Big Bucks round. Yes, he won once back then, but a) the money was so much less back then and b) he noted he got out in his second game.
But he didn’t, and Julio seemed to have some kind of game show magic on his side when he landed on what had to be the only square on the board that would have allowed him enough money to overcome Russ to move on. Great! He seemed to be rolling along…and then he Whammied out. Again, it’s hard to feel absolutely terrible for someone who walked away with a new car and a lot of cash. But, man, Whammying out of the final round? A bummer.
(Also, this had to be a record for the number of times contestants landed on the Big Bucks spot, right?)
GENERATION GAP: Once again a cute episode. Did I feel old because this was the first celebrity guest that I didn’t recognize? Yes. But…at least I was able to get the other questions correct.
(Also, of course the boy choose the cute robot buddy. That thing was freaking cute, even if half of those things seem to be a half-step away from pure evil. Yes, I watched too much PERSON OF INTEREST.)
