CLAIM TO FAME – “Poker Face” – The remaining seven contestants grow closer but keep their eyes on the prize as this week’s challenge is the most revealing yet. Attached to a lie detector test, contestants take turns sitting in the hot seat answering yes or no questions about their relatives. They must decide whether to tell the truth or lie, and while all attempt to give their best poker face, only one contestant wins immunity from the Guess Off. Back at the house, an alliance influences which clue is drawn and those facing elimination make their case to be The Guesser when “Claim to Fame” airs MONDAY, AUG. 15 (10:01-11:00 p.m. EDT), on ABC. Let’s talk about Monday night’s TV!
CLAIM TO FAME: Oh, there was mess!
Kai trying to get Louise to crack was an interesting approach to attempt to make sure she failed the lie detector test, but it was also wildly uncomfortable. It felt mean to pry about Louise and Logan’s connection—and then also ask embarrassing questions to try and make her laugh felt like a step too far. I don’t blame the other contestants for being upset, because it ended up handing her a win, too. (And this is the danger with keeping a slam dunk around just because you don’t want to risk your easy answer going home. If she wins this all, I’ll laugh out loud.)
It feels like we’re also at the point where any ousting/finding clues will feel like a betrayal. I understand everyone wants to keep their ID a secret, but so far, only two really are.
I’m sorry to “Kai,” but they were right to put her up—and I’m glad Amara stuck with her gut about who she was.
