LAW & ORDER: Elisabeth Röhm to Direct a Season 22 Episode

Elisabeth Röhm is returning to the LAW & ORDER world—with a twist.

Röhm, who previously starred as ADA Serena Southerlyn in seasons 12-15 of the long-running drama, will direct a season 22 episode entitled “Only the Lonely.” The hour will follow the case surrounding the “murder of a high-level crisis consultant, who made many enemies in her career.” (Update, 10/24: The episode will air Thursday, November 10.)

This will mark a mini-reunion for Röhm and her former on-screen partner, LAW & ORDER star Sam Waterston, who has played Jack McCoy since season 5.

“She’s been talking to me about directing an episode of LAW & ORDER or FBI, and talking to the Wolf [Entertainment] people about it, [too,]” LAW & ORDER showrunner Rick Eid tells Give Me My Remote. “We were glad we were able to make this happen.”

Röhm has previously directed Lifetime films GIRL IN ROOM 13, SWITCHED BEFORE BIRTH, and GIRL IN THE BASEMENT. In addition to her time on LAW & ORDER, her TV acting credits include ANGEL, HEROES, THE OATH, and JANE THE VIRGIN.

And if Eid has his way, Röhm will be just the first person returning to the L&O universe this year. “I’d like to see all [of the] returning favorites come back to the show,” he says with a laugh. “I don’t know how feasible that is…but I’m confident that we will see some of our distinguished alumni on the show this season.”
