THE LAST OF US: HBO Sets January Series Debut

THE LAST OF US will debut on Sunday, January 15 at 9/8c, HBO announced.
The series, which is based on the video game franchise by the same name, “takes place 20 years after modern civilization has been destroyed. Joel, a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie, a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal and heartbreaking journey as they both must traverse the U.S. and depend on each other for survival.”
The show stars Bella Ramsey, Pedro Pascal, Gabriel Luna, Merle Dandridge, Nico Parker, Murray Bartlett, Nick Offerman, Jeffrey Pierce, and Anna Torv. Additionally, Ashley Johnson and Troy Baker, who starred in the game, will also be a part of the HBO version in new roles.
Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin serve as co-creators/writers/directors. Kantemir Balagov, Jasmila Žbanić, Ali Abbasi, Peter Hoar, Jeremy Webb, and Liza Johnson are also serving as directors, with Carolyn Strauss, Evan Wells, Asad Qizilbash, Carter Swan, and Rose Lam on board as executive producers.
