About Last Night…THE VOICE and THE ROOKIE: FEDS
November 30, 2022 by Marisa Roffman
Let’s talk about Tuesday night’s TV!
THE VOICE: Man, that was a brutal elimination. I definitely don’t think it was the correct bottom 3, but I’m glad Kim is sticking around. (It feels deeply unfair Kique got eliminated while competing with COVID; just like Kate Kalvach got eliminated after a tech issue, it’s a bummer when it’s at least partially due to things outside of their control.)
THE ROOKIE: FEDS: I was initially a little skeptical about diving so deep into just Garza’s past for the fall finale, but it ended up being a really beautiful hour. There were plenty of laugh out loud moments—Carter under the desk?! Simone basically blowing up the copier?! Brendon having a burner social media account to stalk his fans? (And also being called out because the posts seemed too genuine? Dying to know who within the show’s world did–or heard about—something similar.)
But in the midst of the fun, it was also a really good way to show how well the team can work together, even under deeply stressful and challenging circumstances. (And Garza telling Simone he needed a torpedo and that’s why he called her? It made me weirdly emotional!)
Now, just because we got lovely insight into Garza and he got a bit of closure…does not mean they can kill him off. Someone better find him in the cemetery ASAP, please.
(On a lighter note, how fun to have ARROWverse vets Teddy Sears and Courtney Ford in the same episode. It’s not quite a reunion, but a nice little extra bonus to fans who also watched that franchise.)
