Let’s talk about Monday night’s TV!

THE VOICE: Okay, look, forcing the contestants to do an upbeat song feels quasi-like a trap, but it mostly worked. I absolutely have my top picks—two, in particular, I’m rooting for—but I’m glad there wasn’t any absolutely painful performances and you can make a case for any of them to win. 

It’s interesting, back in the day, there used to be merits to wanting unconventional contestants on AMERICAN IDOL to not win the show—being locked into a contract for the show could hurt the more creative artists. (One of the only good reasons Adam Lambert did not win, frankly.) At this point, it probably doesn’t matter, because the industry is so different?
