About Last Night…CHICAGO MED, CHICAGO FIRE, CHICAGO P.D., and More

Let’s talk about Wednesday night’s TV!
CHICAGO MED: Well, after watching a deeply traumatizing trek in/through the woods on NEW AMSTERDAM, what a relief that this journey was significantly less scream-worthy. (And this journey led to a saved woman/newborn, not a freaking amputation.)
I’m so glad Will had the guts to talk back to Jack, because, uh, he was right. And that decision was clearly life-changing for Will’s patient.
(WILL SOMEONE HUG MAGGIE, PLEASE.)
CELEBRITY WHEEL OF FORTUNE: I know they’re probably limited about how many real themed shows like this they can do, but I found the cast of ABBOTT ELEMENTARY absolutely charming on this show and hope we see more episodes like this.
CHICAGO FIRE: Oh, Stella. I also want to give her a hug. I’m glad she’s being taken care of and she’s also well enough to recognize when others aren’t doing well.
To look at her trauma for a moment, I’m glad the show took the time to showcase the ways in which she was struggling…and how Severide was helping her, in whatever way she needed/wanted.
It also really makes sense that Carver was really impacted by Stella’s injury, both because he’s new to the firehouse and they have their own history. And, as we learned, he has his own history with not being protected, so he didn’t really know how to handle that. I really hope the show uses this as a turning point for their friendships, because he was awfully open/candid about his past. (Uh, how worried should we be about this scary brother?!)
Oh, Violet. I absolutely understand why she wanted to go scorched earth on Emma, but she also knows how dangerous she has been. And now…
I LOVED seeing Goodwin here for a beat. (And Derek Haas was right…it was not the MED character I was expecting, nor was it remotely in the way I expected.)
CHICAGO P.D.: I loved how Torres—and Intelligence—handled this murky situation. Torres was backed into a bad corner, but rather than protecting himself or going off half-cocked, he trusted Ruzek had his back (and was smart enough to utilize Trudy) and went about things accordingly. (I also really loved Torres and Ruzek together, and was really glad to see Adam taking him under his wing.)
And Torres’ “This is why I became a cop” at the end? Chef’s kiss.
