About Last Night…GOLDEN GLOBES, FBI, THE ROOKIE, and More
January 11, 2023 by Marisa Roffman
Let’s talk about Tuesday night’s TV!
GOLDEN GLOBES: Well, they were an absolute mess. They almost always are a quasi-mess, but it felt like everyone there collectively decided they were not going to follow the rules—which…fair—but it led to uncomfortably long speeches at points, followed by others getting obvious play-offs. And you know when it’s a good time to stop presenter shtick? When it’s VERY CLEAR you’re going wildly over.
But Globes are gonna [censored] Globes.
FBI: I love that Kelly got his own episode, because we’ve gotten bits and pieces of the JOC workers, but they’re mostly there to just help with the cases. This time…well, he probably wished he was working the case instead of thick in the middle of things. But he saved the day! I really enjoyed the episode, even though our agents really need to have a day or two off from deeply traumatic events.
THE ROOKIE: Lucy and the domestic violence storyline was so stressful. Melissa O’Neil was great as Lucy went from sussing out something was wrong with the woman, trying to get her placed, and then realizing this was not what it appeared to be—and then trying to save the woman from the man who was manipulating her.
Tim coaching the baseball team…my heart.
(Also, I’m loving Celina on this show and really hope we get to keep Lisseth Chavez.)
FBI: INTERNATIONAL: Okay, I’m glad Scott is finally, really, fighting back. We know he’s not going anywhere, but Dandridge needs to know he can’t get away with this. I can’t wait to see what happens next…especially now that Scott told Jamie what’s going on.
I’m also curious how Zoey ends up fitting in with the team and what her tenure with them is. On paper, she’s kind of like SVU’s Velasco, in that someone with not-great intentions placed her within the team, but she seems fine and capable of doing the job?
