Let’s talk about Thursday night’s TV!
GHOSTS: What a joyfully Jewish episode. I loved seeing Trevor’s family—and can’t wait to, eventually, meet Trevor’s brother—but I have to admit I’ve laughed every single time I’ve thought about Trevor’s Bar Mitzvah theme. MEL GIBSON? It’s so brilliantly funny, because it makes sense a teen boy would be obsessed with Gibson pre-controversy, but it also opens up so many doors about how crazy this theme went.
But I also love how the show handled Trevor discovering his parents split. Yes, he got them to hook back up, but they weren’t meant to actually get back together. Sometimes the happily ever after is being happy on your own—and for Trevor’s parents, that was the case. (And Trevor got to know the split wasn’t because of him.)
“We were on a respite.” Oh my God. I did not expect this FRIENDS homage.
