About Last Night…THE VOICE and QUANTUM LEAP

Let’s talk about Monday night’s TV!

THE VOICE: With the teams being smaller than normal, I echo my plea that we really don’t need to see people who don’t get chair turns. Even if the contestants don’t have tragic backstories and are quickly eliminated in the next round, I’d still rather see them than an abundance of people who don’t get a single turn. My personal highlights for the episode were Cait Martin, Rachel Christine, Mariah Kalia, and Gina Miles.

QUANTUM LEAP: Knowing there was a mole who was going to be revealed in the episode, I spent so much of the hour thinking about who it could be…until it hit me midway through the episode that it might be Ziggy. It “helps” that the team is so small and any of them actively betraying the others would be really hard to swallow—and the stakes would be a bit more minimal.

But Ziggy? Oh, boy, this is delicious and complex. Ziggy is central to everything they’re doing and it being compromised could jeopardize Ben’s safety in ways we can’t even comprehend now. It could be the machine becoming self-aware/with its own agenda or it could be an agent for an outside force. There are so many unknowns, and that makes it wickedly dangerous. How does Magic proceed going forward? Does he warn everyone and they have to figuratively fly blind? Does he try and take on Ziggy solo? DRAMA.

As for the leap itself, man, Ben got lucky. And bless Addison for being brilliant and saving his life. Their car conversation absolutely broke my heart, in the most bittersweet way. They love each other so much, and I’m so curious how much more of this they/their relationship can take. This is not easy on either of them.
