About Last Night…THE EQUALIZER, AMERICAN IDOL, and MAGNUM P.I.

Let’s talk about Sunday night’s TV!
THE EQUALIZER: Fisk brought out a fire gun/FLAME THROWER?! This man does not know subtle. I did love to see Robyn working with him, though, because she truly doesn’t know if she can trust him, which brings tension to every single moment they’re together.
And, yeah, I do worry about Dante’s father re-entering his life in a real way. I hope that relationship can be healthy, but I have doubts. (But LOL to Aunt Vi being, like, two days away from locking Dante and Robyn in a room together. It’s very sweet how much she cares.)
AMERICAN IDOL: I’m extremely picky about “Hallelujah” covers—so many people try, and it’s a hard song to do with the right amount of emotion, while also not overdoing it—but Cam Amen was absolutely incredible. I’m so glad he got the platinum ticket.
Oliver Steele was also a highlight, and the judges were right: He sounded incredible while singing to his dad. I hope he can channel that.
MAGNUM P.I.: Oh man, family pain. TC’s reunion with his mother was hard and bittersweet, but Stephen Hill was fantastic as his character navigated it. (Though his mom was very sneaky using Magnum to get an in. At least she confessed pretty fast.) And clearly this was also a delicate episode for Higgins, who also had to deal with memories of her own family as they tried to help a man with Alzheimer’s. I’m glad for her that Magnum made it clear he was backing her up, and he was there for her in the bigger and small ways when she needed a partner.
