About Last Night…NEXT LEVEL CHEF and GREY’S ANATOMY

Let’s talk about Thursday night’s TV!
NEXT LEVEL CHEF: Uh, wow, the chefs melted down with this frying challenge. Tucker and Pilar absolutely wiping out on the top level was shocking—Tucker being thrown by losing ten seconds was kind of confusing (she had less competition and she still had the second choice of everyone), but then Pilar missing the platform? Eesh.
Tucker and Tineke wrestling over the steak was also insane. And it felt like that one thing going wrong really set Tineke off on a spiral that she couldn’t overcome. But it was very nice how kind Gordon was to her both in the aftermath of her cook and her elimination.
With all due respect to her, she was probably the right person to go home this week out of that bottom 3…but I wish she had stuck around longer.
GREY’S ANATOMY: Amelia…yikes. Look, she has the right to grieve her chosen family going away, of course. And it sucks she lost Kai, but…that relationship was very clearly on borrowed time. (When your partner does not want kids and you already have a kid, that’s a relationship deal-breaker.)
But yikes to her taking it out on Winston. He didn’t LET Maggie leave. Maggie left for an incredible opportunity. If she had stayed, given that up, she would have been miserable. If Winston had made her stay, it would have been incredibly selfish. The best case for that relationship would have been if he went to Chicago with her.
And then taking it out on the interns? Eesh. It’s bad. I’m so glad Addison was there to give her tough love.
Speaking of Addison, I loved that she came to do a wellness check on Bailey. And giving hot chocolate as juju?! My season 2-loving heart.
But Bailey. My God. How terrifying to be confronted like that at work. I’m so glad the whole team stepped up. (And I laughed at Ben wanting to beat up the guy who threatened his family—yes, sir, you are a fireman and you can hurt him with your ax.)
Also, that Cristina shout-out? Amazing. Loved it.
