CHICAGO FIRE: Taylor Kinney to Miss the Rest of Season 11

CHICAGO FIRE’s Taylor Kinney will not appear in the final episodes of season 11, a source has confirmed to Give Me My Remote. (The series has already been renewed for season 12.)

Kinney took a hiatus from the series in January to deal with a personal matter. He last appeared on the Wednesday, February 22 episode.

The series temporarily wrote Kinney’s character, Kelly Severide, out by sending him to “the best arson training investigation in the world” in Alabama in a March episode. Since then, the series has frequently mentioned him, plus, Severide’s wife, Stella (Miranda Rae Mayo), has gone out of town to visit him.

But there will be an old friend in the season 11 finale on Wednesday, May 24: As GMMR previously reported, Jesse Spencer is back for the final episode of the season.
