It’s the penultimate episodes of the season for the LAW & ORDER franchise on Thursday, May 11 (kicking off at 8/7c), and a lot is going down: Cosgrove (Jeffrey Donovan) is in danger on the mothership, Muncy (Molly Burnett) tries to right a wrong on SVU, and the ORGANIZED CRIME hour (officially) kicks off the three-episode crossover finale event.

Can’t wait for the block? Here are a few teases about what to expect…

LAW & ORDER (“Appraisal”):

NBC’s take: “Cosgrove and Shaw suspect an art dealer was murdered but can’t make an arrest until they locate her body. Price and Maroun must go to trial with a circumstantial case and a suspect with unlimited resources. The squad celebrates a birthday.”

GMMR’s take: Donovan is great in the episode—arguably one of his best of the series—as Cosgrove and Shaw try to prove what seems impossible…and the cops and Price don’t see eye-to-eye about one of the possible charges. A lot goes down to make Cosgrove consider (and reconsider) where his life is right now.

LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT (“Bad Things”):

NBC’s take: “Benson and Carisi are baffled when a series of assaults have the same M.O. but different DNA at each crime scene. Muncy believes Elias Olsen has struck again and is determined to prove it.”

GMMR’s take: With two investigations going on at once—and one proving to be more complex than they initially thought—the five cops (and one ADA) split into pairs and take a lead to follow. There’s a little bit of personal talk—and a reference to an old-school cop show—thrown in amidst the casework. It’s also lovely to see Molly Burnett get a chance to shine as Muncy tries to figure out if she can finally nail Elias for a crime.

LAW & ORDER: ORGANIZED CRIME (“Shadowërk”):

NBC’s take: “When DNA from an SVU rape investigation connects to an OCCB unsolved murder, Stabler and Benson uncover a revenge-for-hire scheme on the dark web. While Bell and Jet follow the money trail to expose the website’s anonymous creator, Stabler asks Professor Rollins for help with a key clue.”

GMMR’s take: With the revenge-for-hire scheme taking center stage, Benson and Stabler get to briefly work together to try and get more information about how this operation works…and encounter an old foe along the way. But things have a much wider reach than they anticipated, and Stabler reaches out to an old acquaintance for a bit of assistance.
