CHICAGO FIRE Season 11 Finale Recap: Brett Gets Two Life-Changing Surprises

A couple of relationships hit possible make-or-break points on the Wednesday, May 24 season 11 finale of CHICAGO FIRE.
With Severide still MIA (Taylor Kinney)—and telling Stella (Miranda Rae Mayo) off-screen that his change in assignment happened too fast to loop her in—the lieutenant started to doubt her relationship…in part because she recalled a warning Kelly’s mother gave her.
“Maybe Kelly really is a wanderer at heart,” she told Brett (Kara Killmer). “Now that we’ve been apart for a while, he’s slipping right back to that. We’re losing our connection, no matter how hard I try.”
But, ultimately, she decided to fight for her man.
“I’m going to get my husband and bring him back to Chicago,” Stella told Carver at the end of the episode.
She wasn’t the only one fighting for a relationship: After Brett officially got the okay to adopt the baby (who she is planning on naming Julia, after her birth mother), Casey (Jesse Spencer) came to her place with a proposal…literally.
“I got something about a year and a half ago, and I wanted to give it to you before I go back to Portland,” Casey said, dropping to one knee. “Sylvie Brett, we were meant to be. Will you make me, and the three kids, the luckiest family in the world? Marry me?”
But will she say yes? That’s TBD until next season.
(It wasn’t all good news, however: Mouch was bleeding out in the hospital when we last saw him.)
