About Last Night…MASTERCHEF and GORDON RAMSAY’S FOOD STARS

Let’s talk about Wednesday night’s TV!

MASTERCHEF: Man, how do you watch Kolby and his grandfather and not have your heart grow at least three sizes? Absolutely precious. And him literally placing the apron on Kolby? (And joking Kolby deserved an apron and a gold star? My heart, man.)

GORDON RAMSAY’S FOOD STARS: On paper, the Red Team and Blue Team both had good ideas. Bowls are very #in; on the flip side, you can’t go wrong with burgers/grilled cheese (thank you to both teams for thinking of vegetarian options!) and fries. (Also, that glam shot of the grilled cheese? Chef’s kiss.)

But, man, once things started going, Red Team was far and away the better group. First of all, yeah, the Blue Team’s menu was dumb—listing all of their non-cooking careers might be interesting if it was fusion food (or pizza given Caroline’s occupation)—but it felt like an in-joke the consumers weren’t in on.

And then the near-gluten-free mess on the menu was absolutely inexcusable. It makes sense Luther was sent home—at the very least, as the “leader” he should have stood up for himself and gone over the menu a final time, etc.—but good lord…Queen almost making a mistake that could have had serious health consequences should have led to a multiple elimination week. Mess.
