About Last Night…STARS ON MARS, CRIME SCENE KITCHEN, and WEAKEST LINK

Let’s talk about Monday night’s TV!

STARS ON MARS: I made the mistake of watching my screener right before an intended meal time and…well, let’s just say this week’s task made lunch impossible for a bit. (How everyone didn’t throw up is beyond me, to be honest.)

I’m bummed Richard Sherman evicted himself, and do really wonder how this will shake up the “colony” going forward. If this distracts a couple of the physically strongest people, does this put them at risk of not brushing it off and not completing future tasks? Or is this going to fuel them further?

(Also how do you not realize there’s an element of a social game in this? I know it’s only been like a week, but come on.)

CRIME SCENE KITCHEN: Wow, Steph and Cherry have to be frontrunners at this point after nailing the correct mystery dessert twice in a row. That’s great, but I wonder what the balance will be with how good they can be and at what point it becomes a disadvantage. If they don’t have to do round 2 in the episode for another week or two, does that put them at a disadvantage when they finally do have to try that because they have no experience there? But for now…just wow. They’re the team to watch.

WEAKEST LINK: I know this isn’t how the game works, but I wanted none of the men to win after they systematically voted out the women. And, uh, what a dumb strategy. I get voting out the strong person at the end (even if it’s unfair), but you keep them around as long as possible to have them help bank you more money. Dumb, dumb, dumb.

(And my brain broke when Jakob didn’t know LAW & ORDER had a dun dun sound and guessed THE OFFICE. This isn’t like missing a THE THING ABOUT PAM question—which the contestants also did—this is a franchise that’s been around for more than 30 years!)
