About Last Night…GENERATION GAP and THE CHASE

Let’s talk about Thursday night’s TV!GENERATION GAP: The game remains fun! I was curious how they would handle the end of the episode in season 2, because you could blindside the family with the “end of episode” twist where the kid has to pick between a prize designed for them and a more expensive gift, but the families involved in season 2 should know the deal. And it didn’t change! (Maybe they figured a parent could prep a tiny child as much as they want, and most won’t listen when faced with an opportunity like that.)

THE CHASE: Well, this was one of the best episodes of the entire series so far. When it was down to one contestant vs. the Chaser, I was wondering why ABC (and/or the producers) scheduled this as the season premiere; a lopsided victory isn’t necessarily exciting or a good sign for what the rest of the episodes are like. And then with an OK (at best) showing in the final question round, again, worried. But holy [expletive]. A mixture of Brandon getting a number of questions wrong, plus Rick getting just enough pushbacks led to the most exciting final Chase I can recall. (Being down to one question and one second left?! Insane.)
