About Last Night…GENERATION GAP and THE CHASE

Let’s talk about Thursday night’s TV!

GENERATION GAP: How can you root against Olivia and Irving when she said she wanted to donate part of her winnings to charity?!

Also, no one has ever been more excited to be on TV than tiny Lily. She picked the go-kart, which I’m sure made her family cringe, but how freakin’ cute.

THE CHASE: I’m always interested in the scheduling of this show, because this episode served as a finale: What do they view as big/exciting? In this case, it was the team just being completely wiped out, twice. That’s, personally, actually the kind of episode I like least. It’s one thing if the contestants make it to the final round and lose or if they pull off a miracle after all being eliminated and get a comeback win with a much smaller amount of money. But to see them all lose twice? With very rare exception, it just feels like pouring salt in the wound.

That being said, this was a crazy game, filled with apparent first. Has there ever been a time when a contestant didn’t lock in an answer before the timer ran out? But then Matty also lost his round on the final question, which has to suuuuuuuuuck. And then Elise got a bonkers $100k in the quick money round and then lost three multiple questions in a row??? Madness.
