Let’s talk about Sunday night’s TV!

THE SIMPSONS: I think the underlying message was good and important—resources are being poured into things like police and it’s…not actually helping society—but it felt a little too on the nose. It’s really important for shows like this to dig deeper into societal issues (and I’m sure this pissed off some people), but it didn’t work quite as smoothly as I wanted it to. (That being said, I hope this is an episode that grows on me upon rewatch.)

BOB’S BURGERS: Okay, not to take the side of the kids…but they are working a lot in the restaurant. Maybe they shouldn’t have to do as many chores at home. (Or, you know, give them that candy.) A charming premiere.

FAMILY GUY: I know it’s fun to minimize Meg’s importance to the show/family, but this was actually a solid premiere episode. And Meg as a (temporary) mother was interesting?!

BIG BROTHER: This was a weird episode. There was enough time to discuss America’s kissing abilities, Cory being a SURVIVOR fanboy, and Mecole cleaning?

Cameron winning HoH…he’s really an absolute beast in this competition. Depending on who is eliminated this week, he might be in real trouble (again) next week. Basically, it only feels like he’d be safe if Matt or Jag win. I am curious how seriously he’ll take Jared’s request to take care of Cirie. She’s a competitor, but she’s also an island. Targeting her isn’t the smartest thing right now—if he can’t get Felicia out, he really should be targeting Cory.

(Felicia throwing Cirie under the bus? Okay. Good luck with that.)
