About Last Night…QUANTUM LEAP, CELEBRITY JEOPARDY, MAGNUM P.I., and More

Let’s talk about Wednesday night’s TV!
QUANTUM LEAP: It was fun for an episode, but having Ben sans help from HQ made me sad. Not only did I miss them, but it added to the feeling of Ben kind of floundering. (Which, to be clear, really works here.)
The show jumping ahead three years leads to a lot of fun mystery, but also potential heartbreak for everyone we love. On one hand, it’s a kindness Ben wasn’t trapped for three years, knowingly. But for him, it was moments, while the people he loves suffered with him gone. Life moved on without him. Ouuuuuuuch.
[For more on the premiere, here’s what Chris Grismer shared.]
CELEBRITY JEOPARDY: Okay, that TV spoiler category was very funny, even though it’s depressing as hell no one knew the DESPERATE HOUSEWIVE clue. I do kind of want the LOST clue printed on, like, a shirt. (THEY WERE NOT DEAD ALL ALONG, MY GOD.)
Aww, it’s lovely that Lisa Ann Walter was able to win given she was playing for her mom. (Also a badass move that she scored enough she could bet $0 on Final Jeopardy and still win.)
THE MASKED SINGER: Is there anywhere Tom Sandoval hasn’t been this year? (That being said, as someone who does not watch his show, he did well.) Also, KEN WAS RIGHT AGAIN????
CELEBRITY WHEEL OF FORTUNE: Penn getting “I’m Crushing It” in like a nanosecond was so funny. (I will brag and say I figured it out before he guessed any extra letters, but I won zero dollars…safe to say, he won-won.) I love that he did the show for Gilbert Gottfried, though.
MAGNUM P.I.: While I continue to hate that NBC is revealing too much in promos, at least the “Is Higgins Pregnant?!” scene was at the start of the episode and wasn’t ruining everything. I’m also glad it was real versus being a dream—been there, done that—and it led to the very cute official “I love you” declarations…complete with cute bickering between Higgins and Magnum.
Stephen Hill destroyed me, though, in the most gutting way as TC adjusted to his life post-shooting. (There may have been literal tears involved.) I’m glad they’re not just instantly bouncing back to everything being perfect, but, man…pain. And the cast is killing it.
THE $100,000 PYRAMID: Jason Alexander is very, very good at this game. So is Rosie O’Donnell. And Sam winning $150,000 is crazy?! (But also so well done.) Looooved seeing Lauren Ash on the show and seeing her kick butt, too.
