About Last Night…THE SIMPSONS, BIG BROTHER, FAMILY GUY, and More
October 23, 2023 by Marisa Roffman
Let’s talk about Sunday night’s TV!
THE SIMPSONS: Sometimes it’s sad that Marge and Homer have no real adult friends…but it was also very clear (as a viewer, not to them) that they were about to be used by their new neighbors. It’s very funny, though, that they thought they might be getting scammed into buying a new car, when the reality was the neighbors wanted to trick them into allowing a house to be renovated.
BOB’S BURGERS: Look, they tried, and the thought was nice…but that seemed like a very odd bachelorette party. But good on Linda (and Bob) for trying.
BIG BROTHER: Uh, Jag…Bowie is right to mistrust you. You ARE working with everyone else in the house. And if Matt wins next week, you’re running out of people to put up.
(He’s also dumb to trust America and potentially stab Blue in the back. We’ll see how bad this backfires, especially with a double eviction coming.)
There’s an argument to be made the producers are getting too involved with this season, with keeping Cam and Jag around longer than the game play suggested—and now Jag being able to win HOH two weeks in a row…
FAMILY GUY: This episode was built around a (possibly?) niche joke, but I loved it. Those Tom Selleck reverse mortgage ads are insane, and are ever-present on some channels…I can’t imagine how many people have been taken in specifically because of his persona. So Peter falling victim to it? Yeah, that tracks. And them referencing BLUE BLOODS, while knowing virtually no details about the show, made me laugh.
