About Last Night…MASTERCHEF JUNIOR: HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS

Let’s talk about Sunday night’s TV!
MASTERCHEF JUNIOR: HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS: Oh, this was fun.
This show, in general, makes me happy, but it was very cute to see the kids so excited about the holiday of it all. Fake snow! Gordon as Santa! It was cute.
I’m really curious about the contestant process for this compared to the regular MCJ—are these the good options, but maybe not quite ready for a full season? These kids are all talented, don’t get me wrong. It just seemed like we saw a few more technical errors than normal, plus a few were more flustered than we normally see. But there is nothing wrong with that, again, to be clear. Let the kids have fun!
(You know, like pie-ing their choice of judges. Not surprised Gordon and Aarón got the pies.)
The one downside to this format is that we lost five contestants in a single night. And while a lot of shows do drastic eliminations like that, man, it’s hard to have so many kids crying at once. They were so sad! Sigh.
But, also, now I want All The Food. Latkes! Pies! I know it didn’t go well, but that Chinese chicken pot pie sounded delicious, in theory. Allllllll the food, please and thanks.
Can’t wait until this show is back for real, though. I miss it a lot. And Tilly Ramsay has been a fun addition to the franchise so far.
