GENERAL HOSPITAL: ABC Sets Primetime 60th Anniversary Special

ABC is honoring GENERAL HOSPITAL’s 60th anniversary with a new primetime special, GENERAL HOSPITAL: 60 YEARS OF STARS AND STORYTELLING on Thursday, January 4 at 10/9c. (The soap bowed April 1, 1963.)

According to ABC, “The television event will feature fan-favorite cast members from throughout the years as they pull back the curtain on six decades in Port Charles, including behind-the-scenes moments, bloopers, a special fan tribute and more exciting surprises honoring GENERAL HOSPITAL’s legacy.”

The special will include GH stars Maurice Benard, Jane Elliot, Genie Francis, Finola Hughes, Kelly Monaco, Laura Wright, and more. The one-hour event will also include appearances from Rick Springfield, Amber Tamblyn, Emma Samms, Val Chmerkovskiy, Stephen A. Smith, and more.

GENERAL HOSPITAL previously paid tribute to their 60th anniversary on the series itself back in April, with the return of the Nurses Ball—the first time the soap had done it since the pandemic started.
