As TRANSPLANT is set to return for its third season, it’s a bit of a surreal time for creator Joseph Kay: The medical drama also just kicked off its final run of episodes (AKA season 4) in Canada, with the last installments currently being filmed in Montreal.
“In a sense, I’m saying goodbye to the show—but also we’re launching season 3 in the US,” Kay tells Give Me My Remote in the video below. “So it still very much exists. So…I get to prolong the emotional goodbye I have with TRANSPLANT by still living in the world of season 3. So it’s interesting and I like it.”

Ben (Raymond Lee) got one major surprise in the QUANTUM LEAP season premiere when he was told he didn’t just not jump home as planned—he had also been missing for three years.
“As we were rounding out of season 1, obviously, we made these episodes back-to-back, so there wasn’t a lot of time for introspection,” co-showrunner Martin Gero tells Give Me My Remote. “But I think one of the things we were most frustrated about, just as writers in season 1, is that we had been saddled with this very dense and science-y, mathy, brain-hurty mythology—just an enormous amount of explanation.”

FBI TRUE’s Craig Turk and Anne Beagan on Highlighting Real-Life Agents in a New Way

CBS is highlighting crime-solving in a different way this fall with FBI TRUE, a docuseries that highlights real cases—and the agents who worked on them.
The series comes from Craig Turk (who co-created CBS’ FBI franchise) and Anne Beagan (an FBI agent-turned-special advisor, who has worked on FBI and FBI: MOST WANTED), who also worked on the FBI-centric 2021 documentary 26TH STREET GARAGE.
“We feel really lucky to tell these stories,” Turk tells Give Me My Remote. “We’re working with really amazing women and men [on FBI TRUE]. A lot of these stories, like the Boston Marathon bombing—which I thought was an incredible moment in American history, and I thought I knew everything about it…until we got to making this episode. And then you realize, wow, there’s a whole throughline to the story that you didn’t know. And I’ve loved learning [about things]; even cases that I thought I knew really well, I realized I didn’t.”
“And then there are other cases that once you become aware of them, you think, ‘Oh my gosh, how is this not front page headlines? How have there not been books and movies about this?’” he continues. “And so for me working on the show has felt like a real privilege.”
“Some of the stories that we’re telling have been in the mainstream media and people think they know the story,” adds Beagan. “But because we’re choosing to tell it from a different perspective or through the lens of someone who’s never been interviewed before about their role in the case, it really is eye-opening and it’s giving you a fresh look at something that you thought you knew about.”
Here, Turk and Beagan share insight into the show, how it varies from Paramount+ to CBS, how its success is leading to more cases to spotlight, and more. Read more

THE IRRATIONAL Boss Arika Lisanne Mittman Explains Why the NBC Series is ‘Not a Whodunnit, It’s a Whydunnit’

Comments Off on THE IRRATIONAL Boss Arika Lisanne Mittman Explains Why the NBC Series is ‘Not a Whodunnit, It’s a Whydunnit’
THE IRRATIONAL debuted on NBC on Monday, September 25 at a strange time for the industry: hours after the WGA and studios came to a deal to end their strike, while the actors remained (and remain) on strike.
“It was definitely an odd time to premiere—we premiered the day after the writers strike ended, so we at least felt like we had two reasons to celebrate that day,” THE IRRATIONAL showrunner Arika Lisanne Mittman tells Give Me My Remote in the video below. “So that was exciting. We got to shoot seven of our episodes before the strike shut [us] down, and then we’re going to be coming back to finish the rest of the season. So, yeah, it’s definitely not something that happens every season—to be split up by five months in between [filming episodes]. But there [was] a lot of time to think about the show and how excited I was for it to finally premiere and for people to finally get to watch it.”
