About Last Night…NAME THAT TUNE, THE 1% CLUB, and WEAKEST LINK

Let’s talk about Monday night’s TV!

NAME THAT TUNE: Look, the celebrities in the first game were at least close-ish with the song titles, but they said too much. That being said, good lord, I’m glad we’re done with that. The civilian contestants make it so there are more stakes and they’re better players, too.

THE 1% CLUB: Okay, it took a while for me to get into it, but I did get there. (Probably helps I got all but the final two questions correct.) And hahaha to the “villain” winning it all in episode 1.

The interesting problem they may have is that there are 100 contestants to work with every episode. You can devote time to someone who goes all the way or who goes out in the next question. And maybe production is (normal) manipulative and shoots bits with multiple contestants they can swap in, just in case they’re a bust (either interaction-wise or immediately eliminated), but…it’s a tall order for the show to have to overcome every episode.  

WEAKEST LINK: A rare strong first round!

Christine…man, I had to root for her? She was a fun contestant and her backstory was wildly bittersweet. I’m so glad she got the $51,000.
