HIGH POTENTIAL: Rob Thomas Exits as Showrunner

Rob Thomas has exited as showrunner of the upcoming ABC drama HIGH POTENTIAL.

Thomas—who previously ran shows like VERONICA MARS and IZOMBIE—was set to showrun the Kaitlin Olson-led drama, which was created by Drew Goddard. A new showrunner will be named soon. (Thomas, for his part, is developing other projects at ABC Signature.)

The shift came while the series, which bows Tuesdays at 10/9c this fall, was on a pre-planned production hiatus.

The series also stars Daniel Sunjata as Karadec, Javicia Leslie as Daphne, Deniz Akdeniz as Lev “Oz” Osman, Amirah J as Ava, Matthew Lamb as Elliot, and Judy Reyes as Selena.

Variety was first to report the news.
