About Last Night…LOVE ISLAND USA and DON’T FORGET THE LYRICS
June 14, 2024 by Marisa Roffman
Let’s talk about Thursday night’s TV!
LOVE ISLAND USA: Okay, when JaNa and Connor talked, there were such sparks and in my notes, I literally wrote “OH.” But I was also so curious if it was manipulative editing or if JaNa was really going to let Coye go…part of me thought she wouldn’t take that risk, despite the obvious sparks and Coye’s lack of communication. (And, yeah, I felt bad for Coye, even though JaNa gave him so many signs along the way.)
Speaking of signs: LOL to Rob doing a baseball steal sign to sneak some 1:1 time with Leah. (They remain adorable.)
But wow to a messy recoupling as Liv and Hakeem got their passive aggressiveness out. It was…a lot. (Especially since Liv “stole” Rob and blindsided him.)
DON’T FORGET THE LYRICS: Michelle was great. But, man, I can’t believe the portion of lyrics to fill in for “We Didn’t Start the Fire” were the easiest ones. (And some of the only ones I would have bet on, frankly.) SO happy they bowed out with $150k— they mentioned $50k was their salary, so while they were right and could have risked it all, that’s insane to gamble truly life-changing money.
But, man, if you’re going to do a double episode, maybe the second episode shouldn’t be such an unrelenting bummer. Dreana going home with nothing broke my heart. Niecy did a good job of being a cheerleader and pointing out that she had her health (since she just survived cancer), but…sigh. At least Grayson went home with some money.
