Let’s talk about Tuesday night’s TV!

LOVE ISLAND USA: To paraphrase Taylor Swift, Rob, buddy: Hi, it’s you, you’re the problem. You’re not ending up in messy situations. You’re acting in a way that is causing or amplifying messy situations. Not saying Leah is blameless this go-round (her “I have to go home and straight to therapy” was spot-on), but he won’t tell any girl no, even when he’s not interested, and it’s leading to absolute mess and chaos. Serena’s reaction to the situation was perfect.

That being said…oh, man, Serena broke my heart by blindsiding Kordell. Like, props to the producers, because the dance/switch game was a mess, in general, but who would have guessed all but one couple would effectively be split by it?! The bombshells may shake things up, but the fallout itself will be enough to drive drama for the rest of the week.

BEAT SHAZAM: “Abracadabra”!!?!?!?!? Wow, I never would have gotten that and it felt like such a desperate guess…and I only guessed it was probably right when Jamie dragged things out and let the family be together for the final reveal. I’m glad they got the $250k.

AMERICA’S GOT TALENT: Maybe I’m alone with this, but I don’t think the trickshot should have gotten buzzers. It was good and difficult! Even if it didn’t go through, it wasn’t a joke audition. I also thought they were needlessly harsh to the roller skate group…it might not have ended incredibly, but that start was bonkers?! Put them through and tell them to make an overall stronger set.

Look, the dancing robot was good, but did anyone else think of FRIENDS and Joey’s short-lived show MAC & C.H.E.E.S.E.? And, yes, Simon was right about the family singing group being better a cappella.

I’m very curious to see how the domino act plays beyond the audition round. It was very cool, to be clear, but feels like the wrong show. And I’m not sure how it’s an act, though, and it feels like they’re actually better suited for DOMINO MASTERS. That being said, Simon saying they put through things they’ve never seen before makes sense.

I’m also obsessed with Brent Street. They’re so freaking talented and creative?! I can’t wait to see what they do in the live rounds….it feels like we may have seen this season’s winning act.

(Okay, but HOW DID CURRY THE CHICKEN DO THE MAGIC???)

THE QUIZ WITH BALLS: The Stephen King question may have been the first one I knew 100% for the entire run so far, so good for the show for being out there. (I was pretty sure about the Meryl Streep question, but I only watched THE FAMILY STONE once and would not have bet my game safety on that.)

Did anyone else know the Vesuvius thing…because of FRIENDS? (Did not see mentioning FRIENDS twice in today’s column.)

I was worried when one team was knocked out halfway through the game wouldn’t work well, but at least we got our first real success. And KC was so fun in the final round.

PASSWORD: The first game was great. Meghan Trainor was fun and competitive; I hope she comes back every season.

(“Piano” is a hard clue.)
