Let’s talk about Thursday night’s TV!

LOVE ISLAND USA: Meeting the families went better than expected, especially since we as an audience saw more than what the people in the Villa know. Serena and Kaylor’s families, especially, were a lot more forgiving than I would have thought.

I’m not saying this is who should win, but an episode like this certainly makes it feel like production is steering things toward Aaron/Kaylor, Nicole/Kendall, or Serena/Kordell. Their family calls took up nearly the entire episode as we’re so close to crowning a winner…

(I do maintain the best relationships that have come from this are the friendships. Leah/JaNa/Serena forever, please.)

PRESS YOUR LUCK: So glad we started off so strong. It was a good game in the first half, and then the final contestant actually won a huge amount of money/prizes. (And she was delightful.)

BIG BROTHER: I absolutely hate how they formatted the premiere. If you’re going to do the exact same twist, have them all go together. (Also, the games seemed way easier in this episode than the premiere.) It was just a bad production choice that also made me less engaged with the new houseguests, because we all knew what was coming. Oh well.

(Okay, but the bald undercover cop? Anyone else making Elliot Stabler jokes in their head or was that just me?)

CRIMINAL MINDS: EVOLUTION: One of the things that I’ve struggled with this season, unfortunately, is the main case. I just have not cared yet about the main bad duo; they aren’t as compelling as Voit was, and the standalone cases have been much, much, much stronger. So this episode being almost entirely about them? Not as strong as the last few, for me, alas.

Jill and David were at least the most interesting part of the episode…there was manipulation (made obvious by Emily, who could see the situation more clearly), but there’s also history and a whole lot of trauma. Now that they’re down to one suspect—and just saw another martyr himself in front of the entire team—how are they going to navigate this mess?
